Since 1841
A church on County Line Road since 1841
We’ve been loving Christ and the Lowcountry since 1841, with a bright future still ahead of us. Sauldam is a warm faith community made up of committed disciples and earnest seekers alike.
Our history
Sauldam Baptist Church was founded in 1841 and has been part of the Ravenel community ever since. The brick sanctuary, with its white portico and steeple, stands on County Line Road, and the church cemetery is on the grounds.
A fuller written history is still being gathered. If your family has photographs, minute books, or stories from Sauldam’s past, we would love to see them — email contact.sauldam.baptist@gmail.com.

Discipleship
What’s it all about?
At Sauldam Baptist Church, we take seriously Christ’s charge to “make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:16–20), which also means that we believe making disciples is the task of all believers. So we will provide opportunities both for you to enjoy growing as a disciple and to equip you to better make disciples.
Jump into our adult, student, and kids’ ministries to dive deeper in your walk with Jesus: Sunday School classes at 10:00, Pastor Jeremy’s Wednesday study at 6:00, the men’s inter-generational groups studying Experiencing God, the women’s Bible studies, and age-specific teaching for kids and students.
What we believe
A Southern Baptist church
Sauldam Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist congregation. We hold that the Bible is God’s Word and our authority, that Jesus Christ died and rose to save sinners, that salvation comes by grace through faith in him, and that baptism follows belief rather than preceding it.
Like most Southern Baptist churches, we look to The Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as a summary of the convictions we share with thousands of other congregations.

Leadership
Our staff

Jeremy Simmons
Hey! I was born in Columbia, SC, and met Christ as a 15-year-old. Soon afterwards, I wanted to simply help others experience what I had experienced — Christ had given me life and joy, and I could not hold that in! That being said, 15 years later, I still wrestle with the lesser joys that the world offers. My offer to you is to be honest with Jesus and bring others into your own spiritual journey; the folks here at Sauldam would love to support you in it.
It is my deep joy and honor to invite you to attend a service, Bible study, or family dinner with our church. If you would like to have coffee or fajitas, just reach out.
