What a Sunday morning looks like
- Before 10:00 a.m.
If you and your kids are joining us for Sunday school, the best place to park is the left side of the church — the playground side — and enter through the door under the portico.
- 10:00–10:45 a.m.
Sunday School for all ages. We have classes for everyone during the 10:00 hour — children, students, and adults. Sam Moore directs it; Donna Platt teaches adults and Kim Mulvaney teaches the children’s class.
- 10:45–11:00 a.m.
Sunday School lets out and folks visit in the hallways before the service.
- 11:00 a.m.
A time of corporate worship, group prayer, and teaching from God’s Word, led by Pastor Jeremy Simmons. The service usually runs about an hour and fifteen minutes.
- Afterward
If you’d like to meet Pastor Jeremy, he’ll be at the front after the service.
The practical answers
- What should I wear?
- There’s no dress code. Some folks wear a jacket and tie, others come in jeans. Come as you are.
- How long is the service?
- About an hour and fifteen minutes, starting at 11:00.
- What’s the music like?
- Hymns and familiar choruses, sung together. The church choir presents a cantata at Christmas and at Easter, and those recordings are in thesermon archive.
- Will I be singled out?
- No. You won’t be asked to stand up or fill out a card. Somebody will likely shake your hand and say hello.
- Is there anything for my teenager?
- Yes — Sauldam Students meets for Sunday School at 10:00 and Wednesday nights at 6:00.
Sauldam Kids
Checking your kids in
Sauldam Kids is designed for children from infancy through 5th grade, depending on the hour: birth through 5th grade for Sunday School at 10:00, and birth through 2nd grade for 11:00 worship. At Sauldam Kids, we prioritize your child’s safety and security. All of our kids team members have passed background checks and received training on our sticker identification system.
- On your first visit, you will be guided through filling out a form with basic information about your child.
- The system prints two matching stickers. Your child will wear his or her sticker someplace visible and you will keep your portion of the sticker with you.
- At check-out, go directly to your child’s classroom and give the teacher your sticker, and they will match it with your child’s before you leave. Our hallways can be congested at this time — please be patient with our teachers as we help every family check out smoothly.
We also have a private mother/baby room with chairs and a changing table off the fellowship hall for nursing mothers.
